The 2018 KPF was rather an ambitious event, crammed with numerous activities and numerous movements to an extent of things not working on time and in order. The poets arrived on 1st October 2018 and stayed at Marshpark Hotel, Nairobi.

On Tuesday 2nd October 2018, poets travelled to Kisii, a six-hour travel from Nairobi City.
On Wednesday 3rd October 2018, after an opening speech by the Kisii University Vice-Chancellor at Kisii University Pavillion, poetry was read by the following poets: Alexandra Salmela (Finland), Ambily Omanakuttan (India),  Canisia Lubrin (Canada), Cliff Oyugi (Kenya), Dr. Diti Ronen (Israel), Frank Keizer (Netherlands), Funke Michaels (Nigeria), Geir Halnes (Norway), Harrison Omambia (Kenya), Inger-Mari Aikio (Finland), J.K. Ihalainen (Finland), Joanna Lundberg (Sweden), Joanna Rzadkowska (Norway),  Magdalena Sorensen (Sweden), Dr. Molly Joseph (India), Nese Yasin (Cyprus), Patrick Woodcock (Canada), Dariusz Lebioda (Poland), Nyagemi Mabuka (Kenya), Sona Van (Armenia), Soraya Peerbaye (Canada), Sytse Jansma (Netherlands), Tony Mochama (Kenya), Christopher Okemwa (Kenya),  Orlando Cerasuolo (Italy) and Christos Tsiailis (Cyprus). Students of Kisii University also read their poetry and performed spoken word and rap.

On Thursday 4th October 2018, poets visited Genesis Preparatory School and donated books and other stationery materials.  In the afternoon, they visited the Village of Bogiakumu where artistic interaction took place.

On Friday 5th October 2018, poets travelled to Lake Victoria. The road to the lake was under construction, full of pot-holes and it took us longer than expected to reach the Lake. Many poets found it uncomfortable to travel that long distance on bumpy, pot-holed road with numerous deviations. There was nothing to eat on the hot dusty road. Poets had to turn to their note-books to write poetry.

At 4.00 am on Saturday 6th October 2018, poets travelled to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. They saw the animals and watched Maasai dances and bought artifacts and souvenirs.

On Sunday 7th October 2018, poets travelled to Nairobi.

On Tuesday 9th October 2018, poets visited Riara School where they read their poetry to students and staff.

On Wednesday 10th October 2018, poets departed to their countries
